Ten years in

I started Letters to Marc Jacobs in October of 2005. Back then, Vanja was 3! and Joel just a baby. Niki wasn't even born but I was longing for her.

Were you with me then? Do you remember this? I miss those round cheeks and arms! But the kid is till the same.

Just a teenager now.

Credit card analysis

The patient, Ms Guner, seems to act on the notion that she is a
woman of style who builds a well thought-out closet, containing a few beautiful key pieces.

However, as we can tell from this credit card statement,
in reality Guner returns each item that might have made a difference.
The only exception  - the purchases made at Urban Market, were perishables that could not be returned (or worn).

As we checked in with Guner, she was wearing an oversized sweater she had grabbed from her husband, her one pair of comfy jeans and her Blundstones as she was going for yet another long walk this afternoon.

Some women are glamorous, some are not, but we at credit card analysis inc. believe that the majority of women are the non-glamorous day-dreaming of being glamorous. They do not in the end spend the money to be glamorous, however with all their buying and returning, they do spend plenty of time supporting their fantasies.

I can't remember what prompted this pic

I can't remember what prompted this pic, so each time I look at it I make up a new story in my head.

Photographers - please help

Have now had my beloved Fujifilm X-E2 for close to two years. Bought two different lenses, one 35 mm and one 18mm.

Very rarely use the 18mm.

Am instead looking to buy a zoom lens with a wide range.

Which range do you recommend?

grateful greetings

dress decision

The black tie event was yesterday. Rented a dress, acessorized with plastic Strand bag Anders.

Ps. One of my favorite neighbor kids told her mom "they wouldn't need a discoball at that event, cause Emi had that blinky dress on".

Jane on tour

I'm taking a brisk walk through Central Park, listening to the most exciting part of Jane Eyre and am stopped by a tourist who wants to ask for directions.

Me: Hold on a sec, I need to pause my listening.

Lady: Sure, what are you listening to?

Me: Jane Eyre - it's right where she tells her stiff cousin it kills her to be with him.

Lady: Oh. Will she go on tour soon?

Me: What?

Lady: Will you see her in concert?

Me: No, like I said, I'm listening to Jane Eyre, the book.

Lady: I don't know what that is.

Me: It's...a book.

Lady: Ok, but where is the Merry-go-round?

Look for fall

Spotted in a LES shop window.

CP Benches

I love the benches of Central Park.

If you still don't know what to get me for Christmas, I'd take a bench, no problem.

Day off

Kids have so many days off here it's crazy.
Tues was off because of election day.
I took Niki and Vanja and our friend Olivia and went to CP as bonafide tourists.
Even rented sailboats!

As if I was daydreaming, my friends Maria & Maria and their kids showed up!

Teenage years are hitting us like comets.

NEW HOMEPAGE

I just made a new homepage for my children's books. Since the books are only in Swedish, the new homepage is too. See this as an opportunity to guess what I'm saying!

please come on over!

I LOVE MY NEW OFFICE

The writer's room is my new favorite place to work. LOVE IT.

Returned dress

Had to return dress because it was too big and too expensive.
Will put money on hair and maybe nails and wear my own old stuff. The upside of being boring is I can still wear my old clothes since it's mostly black and kind of timeless (=style coward).

Also just returned A WHITE CASHMERE cardi. It amazingly had stains on it before it even left the shopping bag. Not kidding and not sure how it happened. It was a dirt magnet. I don't need more of that - I have kids and a clumsy nature.

I apparently act on my daydreams of living a glam life.

The clothes I do wear are Uniqlo. Sensible, comfy, affordable, washable.

On that note I recommend Carine Roitfeld for Uniqlo.

Bought a vest, a coat and a sweater and use all of them (for instance wore vest and suit when I was a representative from the Department of Education for Halloween and went around scaring NYC parents that their kids didn't get into any middle schools.).

Black tie event

Anders has been invited to a black tie event and I'm going as his date.
Do you often go to such events? If so, what have you been wearing?

I bought a beautiful dress that might be too much?
Or can you not be too much at a black tie event?

This dress will probably face the following: get shipped to my house, get out of box, put on body, looked at in mirror, put back in box and shipped back to store.

Tell me: what have you worn / suggest I wear?
